Hi Furqan,

Congratulations on the new baby. I have seen at least one instance where a life cycle event caused someone to postpone a test date and their one year eligibility period expired. They appealed to the PMI to reestablish their final attempt at the exam and the PMI agreed. So, you should at least give an appeal a try, That way you just might be able to do the PMP exam in the Fourth edition. There is absolutely no guarantee they will allow it, but you won't know if you don't try.

If it doesn't work or you decide not to appeal, then you have plenty of time to study the Fifth Edition. In the Fifth edition, there are big-time change in the processes and the ITTOs, You can drop most of your Fourth edition study material. If you haven't studied since OCT 2012, then you may not remember most of the Fourth edition material. That is a good thing! All of the education providers and study guide authors must do significant updates to their collateral. I don't expect to see new courses and guides until late May, early June 2013 time frame.

By all means I will recommend a class instead of online. Read here why I recommend that as I got my PMP certification on 10 days because of attending a bootcamp.

Hi,

It all depends on how well prepared you are. If you want to start from scratch or just want to brush up your knowledge in few areas.

Classroom option is better suggested for the former and online for the later. PMstudy and PMTI are reputed ones.

Visit their website to zero upon a training provider.
