"I have an Aeronautical Engineering degree (yes I worked for NASA) a Masters and an MBA, so I've been through more than a few tests.

The reason I state all this is to make sure people understand this isn't something that you just breeze through. You have to commit to a serious study regimen to prepare. What I did was purchase Crowe's "How to Pass On Your First Try", Rita's "PMP Exam Prep" and O'Reilly "Head Fist PMP". I also used the PMBOK guide. The O'Reilly book wasn't to my liking so I dropped using it after the first couple of chapters."

Study time : 4 months, spent the last 2 weeks taking mock tests. Made notes for each questions, I got wrong in the mock test and read the notes before the exam.
However would advice PMP aspirants to start taking mock tests much earlier, in fact after the first round of revision to help you understand your knowledge gap

PMHUB-G Tandale real life PMP Exam experience

Reached Prometric Centre, Mumbai [India] and entered at 4 pm for registration as my exam was from 5 pm-9 pm [I had no choice as my candidature was about to expire, but you should choose daytime for exam].
After doing the registration formalities I was navigated to exam room.
First part was a tutorial about how to use controls and calculators for the exam.

The exam is not out to trick you. The preparation is the hard part. Always pay attention to where you are in the process. Take practice exams and keep focused. At the 3 hour mark I was really tired and had to rally. Answer question by question.

Nobody can tell you what your target date, should be- so ponder on this and then analyze your strength and weakness – in studying and in meeting your target.
