In the last 6 months (since published in May 2011), almost 4,800 PMs read this LL. It is the most read LL so far and judge for yourself why: is it because of the supplied links, the comprehensive approach or the nicely laid out LL? 
"My study plan was set in following order: 1) Read PMP Exam Prep as the first;   2) Study PMBOK   3) Very carefully study PMP Exam Prep  4) Test yourself, test yourself, test yourself,…  My advice: do not start with PMBOK; it is too complicated for beginning.

Shortly before Exam I could say that I am sufficiently prepared for the exam. Except PMBOK and Rita I used following resources for testing. I had about 84% average result from these tests."

PMHUB-G Got the PMP after My Name

The exam started with some familiar questions and after passing through the first seventy five questions the fatigue started catching up and that's when I thought of taking break. The next 125 questions were tricky enough but I did have some time to review my marked questions. This really helped me a lot especially with the EVM questions. Once the time was up I closed my eyes ( as I had read in previous LLs) since I wanted to watch the much awaited...... more here

I listened to the PM Prepcast by Cornelius Fichtner at first because I
wasn't sure which PMI exam I should take (CAPM or PMP). I would have
used the Prepcast as the education hours for the PMP, but it turned
out to be a valuable CAPM study guide.

PMHUB-G Changes in PMP Exam - what is happening?

Catherine of Johannesburg, South Africa wrote the first LL of the new
2011 Exam: here, she passed the exam on Oct 11 and get her result
immediately:

However a PMHUB member neeluiyer wrote on October 16, 2011 at 10:47 am ·that
"Not got my results yet. Gave the exam on 4th from Bangalore India"

So it seems that on Oct 4 - PMP Exam is still in "test & analyze" mode
and exam results are just collected and analyzed. Between Oct 4 and
11, PMI decided to return to normal mode: exam are immediately graded
and results given to PMP aspirants.

PMHUB-G PMP Exam back to normal....?

It seems that the situation is now back to normal, PMI immediately
released the exam result since starting this week. I received this
message from one of PMHUB members, Catheriine M.: I have asked her to
write an LL so that we get the benefit of her experience with the new
2011 exam...


"Just a quick note – I wrote my exam yesterday, 11 October 2011 and
got immediate results. Looks like things are back inline.

PMHUB-G Question on new PMP from Aug 31,2011


Hi All:

I am trying to appear for PMP. Can some one elaborate " on what changed" in PMP certification from Aug 31? Can I use study guides from fourth edition of PMBOK? How is preparation different from folks who took the test before Aug 31?

 I saw the text below but unable to clearly understand it. Any help would be appreciated.


What are the major differences from the new exam to the old exam?

A: Approximately 30% of the content on the PMP examination is new or has substantial changes to reflect the role as defined by the RDS. This will result in existing items being updated as appropriate, new examination items being developed to meet these requirements, and old items which do not meet the criteria being retired.

A: Certain areas of the examination need to be tested in a different way because it was seen to be common across all content areas of the examination. Specifically, the Professional and Social Responsibility content area (Domain 6) will now be tested in every domain rather than as a separate domain on the examination. As such, PMI's Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct is now integrated into the day-to-day role of a project manager, emphasizing its importance in each phase of the project lifecycle.

PMHUB-G Lucy's LL: How to save time and skip ITTO memorizing

Lucy: "For all test takers that have a time crunch, my suggestion
would be you try to understand the logic between why anything is an
input or why it is a tool for any process. Understanding the logic
helped me understand the concepts. Practising questions is very
essential. If you get an exam simulator that would help. I used
Cornelius's exam simulator 3 day trial and PM Fastrack. Cornelius's
tips, tricks and explanation are good. Rita's and Cornelius's
questions have similar difficulty level with PMP real test. So
practising their questions helped a great deal. "

PMHUB-G No PMP in September and October, new CAPM this ,morning Sept 14

Yes, practically there will be NO PMP this month and next month.
There will be no PMP LL, only CAPM and PgMP LLs.if any ...

Just to give everybody here an idea of the volume of spam we are dealing here:

For the last one year, PMHUB Blog received 53,856 spams. Fortunately we are using a spam software filter that is very effective - but in the end we still have to manually sort it out and browse through the spams to make sure that valid comments are not deleted it since the filter is NOT 100% accurate.

This is about 150 spams a day just in PMHUB Blog

PMHUB Forums was very much worst. I remember one December some years ago where PMHUB Forums was attacked by spams and just one spambot posted more than 50 posts within minutes. That Christmas weekend - I have to ban hundreds of new members and clean up the forums from hundredds of spams. At that time the Forum software has no batch delete, so this was done one by one.

this apply to new members ONLY.

The existing members are "known" - the spammers are banned or deleted once they post spams.

New members are now tested through a simpel Q&A like: what is PMI, what is PMBOK and what is the PM in PMHUB. If they cannot answer the one of the 3 questions, then they need to ask PMHUB admin for help to activate their membership

Lots of work and hardship due to bad apples. Sign of the times?. Also many new members are not aware of PMI, PMBOK and the PM abbreviation...
