From a purely financial perspective, it makes sense..... The non-member exam fee is $555, while the member fee is $400. Add in another $120 for PMI membership and it comes out $520 total cost as a member vs $555 total cost as a non-member. Essentially, you get a year's membership in PMI for free.......
Now, exactly what added value being a PMI member vs non member gives you, especially if you live/work outside of the USA is another matter....
