"Gold Plating" is defined to be the customer paying for something they
neither need nor want. Now, it is POSSIBLE that some customers don't want
better customer service, but I find that hard to believe in most cultures.
Having said that, given much of Asia remains very much price, rather than
value, driven, given the choice between more or better customer service and
lower cost, some clients in Asia will opt for the lower cost......
Not ours, however....... ;-)
