Hi Zaki,
Some of the "hot" topics being researched by some of my students are:
1) The role of the "project sponsor" in determining the ultimate "success"
of both the project and the product of the project;
2) The need for "Competency" in project management (as opposed to merely
being able to pass multiple choice exams)
3) "Behavioral Profiling" of "successful" project managers

4) The relative ranking or "credibility index" of the various
project/program management credentials. (see

pared.html I am still looking for a graduate student interested in picking
up the initial research I did.)

These are some of the "new" areas that are coming to light as projects
continue to fail with alarming regularity.
